Early Vintage Heddon #14 bamboo fly rod Beautifully Refurbished. Includes 2 tips, sock, and aluminum case, sock & case probably not original.

Butt and mid sections measure 38-1/2 each. Tips measure 35-1/2" and 31", total length of rod with tip is 9' and 9.4'. The varnish used on these rods tended to craze and/or gum up; this rod was beautifully refurbished by a professional custom rod builder about 30 years ago and has seen very little use since. In the process it received all new line guides, hook keeper, windings, and a more modern finish, probably urethane. At that time all markings disappeared, the only Heddon logo is engraved on the butt end. To the best of my knowledge it is a #14, identified by the single ring reel lock and no threads on the metal seat. The cork handle is a cigar shape with a small 3/8" x 1/8" chunk missing at the upper end (see photo). There are no other cracks or imperfections and no rust. I have used this rod with #6 line and it seems like the right fit. Casts nice loops and has plenty of power. Please see my other listings for mostly vintage fishing items.
